Professional Peripheral Testing

No drivers or software needed. Using modern browser high-precision APIs to present the most real mouse performance data.

High Precision Polling Rate

Visualize your mouse Polling Rate in real-time. Supports detection from 125Hz to 8000Hz, helping you verify if your mouse is running at peak performance, refusing frame drops and latency.

Micro-switch Double Click Detection

Mouse double clicking when single clicked? Our high-sensitivity detection algorithm identifies every abnormal trigger to help you judge switch life.

Ultra Low Latency

Built on native Pointer Events API ensuring results reflect true hardware performance without middleware loss.

Privacy Safe

All tests run locally in your browser. We do not upload your click data or peripheral info.

Why Choose MouseTester.io?

More than just a test tool, it's a health check center for your peripherals.

Native Web Technology

No download or driver installation needed. Directly reads low-level hardware data using browser native Pointer Events API, ensuring pure, interference-free results.

100% Privacy Safe

We adhere to 'Local First' principles. All click data and trajectory calculations are done locally in your browser, never uploaded to any server, protecting your operation privacy.

Professional Grade Precision

Supports up to 8000Hz polling rate detection with millisecond-level timestamps. Whether office mouse or top-tier esports gear, we restore real performance.

How to Start Testing

Just three steps to fully understand your mouse performance.

01

Polling Rate Test

Move your mouse quickly in circles within the green test area on screen. After a few seconds, the system will automatically calculate and display the real-time Hz peak.

02

Button Check

Click the left, right, middle, and side buttons. Check if the mouse icons on screen light up to help you discover button failures or double click issues.

03

Scroll & Smoothness

Scroll up and down to check for scrollback issues; draw lines in the drawing area to observe if lines are smooth and continuous, detecting sensor jitter.

Glossary

Polling Rate

The frequency at which the mouse reports its position to the computer, in Hertz (Hz). 1000Hz means reporting 1000 times per second (1ms delay). Higher rate means smoother cursor movement.

Double Click

Issue caused by micro-switch aging. Users click once but computer registers two or more clicks, severely affecting experience.

CPS (Clicks Per Second)

Frequency of clicks per second. Often used to measure player hand speed in games (like Minecraft).

DPI / CPI

Dots Per Inch. Measure of mouse sensitivity. Higher DPI means cursor moves further on screen for same physical movement.

Tool FAQ

Questions you might have during testing.

Q.My mouse is 1000Hz, why test shows 125Hz?

First check your mouse driver settings to enable high polling rate. Second, some browsers (like old Chrome or power saving mode) limit event frequency. Connect power and use latest browser.

Q.Are results accurate?

Very accurate. We listen directly to PointerEvent API. Note that screen refresh rate (e.g. 60Hz) might visually cause cursor lag illusion, but backend data precision is unaffected.

Q.Double click test turned red?

If double click test frequently shows red warning, your mouse switch might have physical wear. Contact warranty if applicable, or try cleaning with compressed air.

Q.Can I use on mobile?

Yes, but mobile touch screens have different sampling rates and no left/right buttons, so some features (polling rate, buttons) experience will differ. Mainly supports touch point test.

Science of Mouse Tech

Understand core parameters behind mouse performance like a pro.

Sensor & Transmission

Modern mice use optical sensors. Different technologies (Wired, 2.4G, Bluetooth) determine signal stability. Top sensors withstand 50G+ acceleration without correction.

Polling Rate

Frequency of position reporting. 1000Hz is 1ms delay. High-end mice support 4000Hz or 8000Hz (0.125ms delay), providing ultimate smoothness.

Signal Processing (DSP)

Mouse MCU processes raw sensor data for depouncing, angle snapping and smoothing. Good firmware retains raw trajectory details while removing unwanted jitter.

DPI / CPI

Dots Per Inch. High DPI isn't precision, but sensitivity. Modern sensors perform best at 400-3200 DPI range; excessive values are often marketing.

Use Cases

Esports

FPS/MOBA players need ultra-low latency and stable polling rates for millisecond-level advantage in competition.

Design Work

Designers and artists need precise control for fine drawing. Smoothness test is especially important.

Enthusiasts

Collectors use tools to evaluate and compare performance characteristics and verify hardware specs.

Professional Repair

Technicians analyze data to check if micro-switches are aging or double-clicking to locate hardware faults.

Troubleshooting Guide

Mouse issues? Self-diagnose with this guide:

Double Click Issue

Symptoms: Single click triggers double click, items release automatically while dragging

Solution: 1. Use double click test; 2. Clean switch (disassemble); 3. Adjust system double click speed; 4. Replace switch.

Cursor Drift/Jitter

Symptoms: Cursor moves automatically or jitters when stopped

Solution: 1. Use smoothness test; 2. Clean sensor lens/pad; 3. Change surface (avoid glass); 4. Disable acceleration.

High Latency

Symptoms: Mouse feels laggy, slow reaction in games

Solution: 1. Use polling rate test; 2. Check USB port (USB 3.0 preferred); 3. Update drivers; 4. Check battery; 5. Disable power saving.

Unstable Connection

Symptoms: Intermittent disconnection or inconsistent reaction

Solution: 1. Check receiver; 2. Remove interference (Router/Bluetooth); 3. Charge battery; 4. Re-pair.

Polling Rate Guide

Relationship between polling rate and gaming performance:
